Pros and Cons

Although the Trane XR80 gas furnace is one of the better options out there it would be ridiculous to claim that it is perfect. There are a number of pros in the favor of this unit, but there are also one or two cons as well. It is up to you to decide which outweighs which. To start with a pro, the system has great efficiency and is rated as having up to 80% Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) – as do many other Trane products.

Secondly, it is worth noting that the construction of the furnace is aimed at durability. The materials used in the making of the furnace are tested repeatedly for their suitability for the job. As the warranties on the product will testify, the Trane Company does not only take the durability of its products very seriously, it is also willing to testify to hat durability by offering great guarantees.

Trane XR80 Gas FurnaceIn addition your furnace can be more than just a device to heat your home. It can also work towards making your home a cleaner and healthier place for you to live. If you choose to add the Trane CleanEffects(TM) to your system you will find that your home will be a lot cleaner. All pollen and other airborne irritants are filtered by the furnace leaving your home a far more pleasant place to live in.

Some units do, reportedly, have glitches. One Trane XR80 gas furnace owner stated that the unit in question required multiple services, and that fees were involved even though the unit was still under warranty at that time. Among the more frequent complaints we can see in the Trane XR80 gas furnace are that the failure of the circuit board and the transformer are among the more common.

Another complaint that has been raised is that the system needs to be cleaned and have the filters changed far too often. Like most systems of this kind certain models have their glitches, and it is important that when comparing Trane gas furnaces that you do not assume that what you read is necessarily a reflection on all units in that category.
